The JSyn Software Developer Kit (SDK) enables programmers to create Java applications and Applets that uses the JSyn API. It includes compiled classes, example programs and programmer guides.

Wire is a graphical patch editor and sound designer for JSyn. It allows you to connect unit generators together graphically, and hear the results in real-time.

The download contains everything you need to develop JSyn programs for non-commercial use subject to the license described below. You may download the JSyn SDK and use it freely for developing software or music for non-commercial purposes, or for evaluation. But in order to fund the further development of JSyn, we prefer that you purchase a Developer License.

Developer Licensing Options

Individual Developer License - you can become a Registered JSyn Developer for $90, or $45 for students. As a Registered Developer, you will have highest priority for technical support. You will also have access to a password protected website that contains:

downloadable archives of the javadocs for offline reading,
a version of Wire that exports Java source for a patch,
a DirectSound and ASIO versions of the native DLL.

Academic or Commercial Site Licenses - provide Registered Developer status for groups at a discount.
OEM Licenses - for developers who wish to redistribute JSyn components with their products, or use JSyn on large commercial websites.

Use of this software implies acceptance of the full text of the SDK License Agreement.
You may download the JSyn SDK and use it freely for developing software or music for non-commercial purposes.
Music created using JSyn may be freely performed in public and freely redistributed in non-executable form, for example AIFF, WAV, MP3 files or Audio CDs.
Users may publish Java Applets that use the JSyn plugin on a non-commercial web site.
Registered Developers who have paid the $90 license fee ($45 for students) may also publish Java Applets that use the JSyn plugins on a small-scale commercial web-site with gross annual revenues less than US$20,000.00. Please contact us for full commercial licenses for larger companies.
The JSyn SDK, in whole or in part, may NOT be redistributed by any means. It may only be downloaded from SoftSynth.com. Applet users must be directed to download the JSyn plugins from the SoftSynth.com plugins web page at "http://www.softsynth.com/jsyn/plugins/". The Customer may not directly link to non-HTML, binary or archive files on the www.softsynth.com website, or place the JSyn plugins or SDK on their own site. You may not distribute JSyn libraries or classes without a Redistribution License. Please contact us if you wish to purchase a Redistribution License.
JSyn is provided on an "as is" basis without any warranty of any kind, including, without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose and their equivalents under the laws of any jurisdiction.
