Changing Durations

  1. Open the EnvelopeEditor by double clicking on the EnvelopeModule.
  2. Click the "On" button. Notice the sound rises quickly then dies away slowly.
  3. The total length of the envelope is shown in the top left corner as "len=" followed by the length in seconds.
  4. Grab the leftmost black dot with the mouse and drag it a little ways to the right.
  5. Click the "On" button. Notice that the sound now rises more slowly.
  6. Drag the same point farther to the right so that the last point hits the right edge. Notice that it stops but the length of the envelope continues to increase.
  7. Now drag the point to the left and notice that the last point stops a little ways in from the right edge, but the length keeps decreasing. The time range of the envelope editor is adjusted automatically based on the last point. This allows you to edit very short or very long envelopes.

Adding and Deleting Points

  1. Click and drag in the background of the envelope editor.
  2. Notice that you have added points to the envelope.
  3. Hold down the SHIFT key and click on an envelope point to delete it.

Setting a Sustain Point

  1. Click on the "S" radio box so that we can set a sustain point. Now drag the mouse horizontally across the middle point. Notice that it now has a vertical bar through it.

  2. Click the "On" button. Notice that the sound changes, then stops at the level of the sustain point. Click the "Off" button to let the sound fade away.
  3. Click on the "P" radio box if you want to add more points.
